A Lovelady resident is among the latest casualties in Iraq.
Army SPC Carl Eason was killed on October 23 when an explosive detonated near his vehicle, that according to the Pentagon. The 29-year-old was assigned to the 1st Armored Division out of Baumholder, Germany.
According to a family spokesperson, Eason spoke with his wife and parents a few hours before his death. He was due to leave Iraq in just four days.
Eason was a 1996 graduate of Lovelady High School, and was a volunteer firefighter in the town, and had three children.
The family asks that donations be made to the Lovelady Volunteer Fire Department in lieu of flowers to the family.
