Two suspects are in police custody in Burleson County after forcing an officer to fire his weapon.
19-year old Samuel Pena and 26-year old Eleazar Pena were arrested after leading police on a chase from Caldwell to Lyons on Highway 36.
Around 5:30 yesterday evening the two men reportedly went into the Las Rosas convenient store, took some beer, and fled.
Police officers from Somerville and Caldwell were able to catch up to the suspects and got them to stop their vehicle.
The officers then instructed the men out of the car but they refuse to get out.
The men started the engine again and that's when one of the officers shot out the car's tires.
Both suspects were arrested and brought back to Caldwell.
They were booked on a number of charges including theft and resisting arrest.
