A Blinn student and dispatcher for the A&M University Police department was killed in a car accident near La Grange.

Kevin Susil's car was hit on State Highway 237 near La Grange Thursday around noon according to reports. The 26-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident happened as he was driving from his parents' home in La Grange to Texas State, where he was also taking classes.

Susil had been with UPD as a dispatcher since 2001, and was also a volunteer fire fighter in Hewitt and an E-M-T. He was a dispatcher in Hewitt for two years before coming to UPD.

Colleagues say he also wanted to go into city government, and was an avid outdoorsman.
