ARLINGTON, Va. -- On this Veterans Day, President Bush is praising US troops as "our nation's finest citizens."
Speaking at Arlington National Cemetery, Bush said US service men and women are sacrificing to make the nation "safer and more secure." He thanked them, and urged other Americans to do the same.
Bush says throughout our history, US troops "have borne the costs of America's wars, and they have stood watch over America's peace."
Before his remarks, the president laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns and held his hand over his heart as a bugler played "Taps."
