As an upper-level weather maker swings into Texas, numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to remain scattered across the Brazos Valley. A few storms could be strong -- with heavy rain, thunder, & occasional lightning -- however, this activity is not expected to become severe. Rain chance will remain in place through mid-morning to midday Friday.
Water service will be turned off to customers in a limited area along Harvey Rd. from Munson Avenue to Stallings Drive. beginning at approximately 2 p.m. Thursday.
Water will be turned off to allow crews from College Station’s Water Services Department to perform emergency repairs on a leaking water valve near the intersection of Harvey Road and Munson Avenue. The leak was discovered after work on a nearby valve was completed Wednesday night.
UPDATED INFORMATION: As of 4:00 pm Thursday, it is expected that water will be off to customers in the affected area until 9:00 or 10:00 pm Thursday evening. Crews are onsite and working to restore normal water service as quickly as possible, while still proceeding with caution around the underground utilities in the area.
