Edwards' Vote: Hoyer for Majority Leader

The Brazos Valley's representative in Congress is expressing support for the new Majority Leader.

Newly-re-elected Chet Edwards (D-District 17) said he voted for Maryland's Steny Hoyer to become the leader.

In a statement, Edwards said he supported Hoyer "because he has a strong record on national defense, and he has the potential to be a bipartisan bridge-builder, which is what Congress needs and the American people deserve."

Hoyer beat out Pennsylvania's John Murtha to become majority leader in the 110th Congress.

As expected, California's Nancy Pelosi was voted in as the Speaker of the House.
