Strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible, across the Brazos Valley, this afternoon and evening. Winds in excess of 40-60mph are the main concern, within the strongest activity. An isolated, brief tornado threat cannot be ruled out. Heavy rainfall between 1" and 3" has the potential to cause localized flash flooding in a few locations.
A Brazos County man is dead following a one-car accident in College Station.
It happened about 5:30 p.m., Sunday, on Rock Prairie Road near Bird Pond road.
Preliminary evidence indicates that Leroy Rodriguez, 51, lost consciousness due to a possible heart attack, and was pinned in his vehicle following the accident, according to College Station police officials.
Rodriguez was taken to College Station Medical Center where he later died.
It is unclear if his death was caused by the possible heart attack or injuries suffered in the accident.
A passenger was not seriously injured.
