Police Search for Suspect in Girl's Death

Harris County authorities are looking for a man suspected of fatally shooting an 8-year-old girl and wounding her 10-year-old sister during a confrontation with the girls' father.

Jatorica Rivera, died shortly after the shooting that happened Saturday night. Her sister, Jalissa Abraham, is expected to survive.

The man suspected of shooting them, 18-year-old Nashal Leonard, is the boyfriend of the girls' 15-year-old sister.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says the shooting happened during an argument over family matters. Leonard fled in a vehicle but investigators don't have a description of it.

Leonard has used the alias Nashal Williams. He has family in the New Orleans and Atlanta areas and investigators say it's possible he is headed to one of the areas.

He is described as a black male, from six-feet-three inches to six-feet-five inches tall. He has a thin build, short afro and possibly a light beard and mustache.
