HOUSTON (AP) - A mother responding to shouts from firefighters dropped her two-month-old and two-year-old daughters to safety from a second-story window during an apartment fire.
The fire Friday night left the children with first and second-degree burns, and the mother had cuts and bruises after she jumped from the window, officials said.
All three were taken to a hospital.
Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
They said it spread quickly through a gap between the building's original roof and a new roof.
