A cold front will approach the Brazos Valley later today. Isolated areas of rain and thunderstorms could develop along and ahead of that front between mid-afternoon and early evening. Good news: rain & storm activity will be quick moving (1 hour or less). Bad news: a few severe thunderstorms are possible with large hail and strong, damaging winds being the main concern. A brief, isolated tornado threat cannot be ruled out, as well.
The city of College Station is holding a public hearing Monday night.
The meeting is to allow for public feedback on a proposed city cemetery that includes an Aggie Field of Honor for former students, faculty, and friends of Texas A&M University.
The final cemetery plan calls for a 57-acre area near the intersection of F.M. 2818 and F.M. 60, the Raymond Stotzer Parkway. 20 acres of that would be the Aggie Field of Honor.
The first phase of the cemetery is scheduled to open in the spring of 2008.
Monday's public hearing is at 7 p.m. in council chambers at College Station City Hall.
