A slippery situation was quickly taken care of in College Station Monday morning.
Just before 9 a.m., an 18-wheeler traveling south on Highway 6 was struck by a piece of metal.
The debris hit the vehicle's gas tank, spewing diesel onto the highway.
Traffic in that area slowed down a bit during the incident.
City workers from College Station put sand down on the highway and Texas Department of Transportation crews spread out absorbent to soak up the diesel.
It took about an hour to clean up the spill.
