Traffic was slowed for several hours on Highway 290 in Washington County Monday morning after an 18-wheeler crashed into a support beam of an overpass.
According to the Department of Public Safety, a passenger car cut off the semi at the SH 36 exit around 9 a.m.
The tractor trailer jackknifed and ran into a support column of an overpass.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was taken to Trinity Medical Center in Brenham with non-life threatening injuries.
It took crews about three hours to clean up the diesel fuel, which leaked from the rig.
DPS officials say the driver of the passenger car will be ticketed for changing lanes when unsafe.
