A Good Samaritan who foiled a convenience store robbery is being a rewarded by a local business owner for his heroic deed.
Tony Mohamed, co-owner of Zip'N at Highway 21 and I-45 in Madisonville, tracked down Houston resident Bruce Johnson to give him a $50 dollar reward, as well as offer him a lifetime of free coffee and drinks as long as he owns the store. Store officials say Johnson is a morning regular.
Police say on May 30, Johnson was stopping by for a cup of Joe when a woman entered the store, told the clerk she had a gun and demanded money.
They say as she tried to escape with the cash, Johnson wrestled her to the ground and restrained her until police arrived.
Police say Nutatia Helton, 38, was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated robbery.
Authorities say Helton had a knife in her possession, but no gun.

mmmmm...I will risk my life for a free cup of coffee. They could have at least thrown a danish in with the deal.
One up for the good guys. He wasn't thinking of his own safety, just doing the right thing. You are the epitome of what America represents. Thanks KBTX for giving us some good news.
I would be happy with the coffee windfall!
