A search has changed direction and the search dogs have been called off in Madisonville after 6 men attempted to break in to a supermarket-- 5 of them fled on foot and one got away in a stolen patrol car.
It all happened around 4 o'clock Friday morning.
Six black males dressed in black clothes and masks were attempting to break into Godwin's Supermarket near the Wal-Mart in Madisonville and when officers arrived, the suspects ran.
A chase began, at which point one of officers left his patrol car and a suspect jumped in and drove off.
Shots were fired by authorities, but no one was injured.
The suspect in the patrol car was caught and arrested in Corsicana, but the other 5 men who fled on foot are still on the loose.
Officers believe that they may be armed and dangerous.
You're asked to take precautions in the area and if you see any suspicious behavior, call the Madison County Sheriff's Department at 936-348-2755.
