The brutal treatment of a seven-month-old pit bull puppy has prompted a reward for the arrest of the perpetrator.

A Caldwell animal shelter is offering a $200 reward if anyone will identify who tossed out the puppy at a College Station area dump Saturday afternoon.

The dog had been kicked in the teeth, wrapped in barbed wire, and was clinging to life when it was found by a passerby. The puppy had to be put down yesterday when his kidneys failed.

If you have any information, you are asked to call the shelter at (832) 891-1447.
