Bryan Police said three men led officers on a chase from Bryan to College Station, but not before the men shot at someone in an apartment complex.
28-year-old Andy Becerra, 24-year-old Javier Alvarez and 22-year-old Jerry Gomez, all of Bryan, have been charged with deadly conduct and engaging in organized criminal activity. Their bonds have each been set at $50,000.
Police said it was after 10 p.m. Saturday night, when the trio drove through the Forest Park Apartments in Bryan. Neighbors said one of the men got out of the car and shot at someone in the parking lot.
"It was a funny feeling when they came around the corner right here and they (sic) lights were off, so I knew something was gonna happen," said a woman who went by T, who didn't want to be identified.
"It was that serious enough for them to come over here and shoot, it might be that serious for them to come back out and shoot someone else in this family," said T.
T said her neighbor was the intended target.
"The shooter got out of the car so he stood out a little bit and he just bang one time and then just bang bang bang fired off 5 more," said T.
According to police, an officer en-route to the complex spotted the navigator at Villa Maria and 2818 and followed it.
"When they initiated the traffic stop, the navigator took off," said Sgt. Benson Kilgore of the Bryan Police Department.
Bryan, College Station and University Police Officers officers stopped the car on George Bush Drive. Police said the trio inside the navigator is among the 10-15 active Sureno gang members in Bryan.
Gomez was also charged in connection with another drive-by shooting that happened in April, at the Bryan Drive Inn gas station.
