Two Texans Killed in Iraq

WASHINGTON (AP) - Two soldiers from Texas were killed in Iraq
this week in separate attacks, the Defense Department said Saturday.

Specialist Yari Mokri, of Pflugerville, and four others were fatally wounded Wednesday when an explosive detonated near their vehicle in Hawijah, Iraq.

Mokri, 26, was assigned to the 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion,
3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.

Meanwhile, Captain Travis L. Patriquin and a soldier from Ohio died Wednesday in Ar Ramadi from injuries sustained from another roadside bomb. The Pentagon did not provide a hometown for Patriquin, 32, but identified him as a Texan.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division in Giessen, Germany.
