Three Killed in Waco Plane Crash

WACO, Texas (AP) - Three people died Sunday when a small airplane crashed near the Waco Regional Airport.

A Department of Public Safety spokesman says the twin-engine Cessna 310 crashed in a field a half mile north of the airport.

The plane had filed a flight plan from Natchez, Mississippi, to Waco.

The crash was reported shortly after 7 p.m.

An FAA spokesman says the National Transportation Safety Board will take the lead in investigating the crash.

No other details were immediately available.
