WACO, Texas -- Authorities say two people from Mississippi and one from Louisiana died when their Cessna 310 crashed in a field near the Waco airport.

Rescuers Sunday night discovered the wreckage of the twin-engine plane on fire in a plowed field. There were no survivors. The cause of the crash is sought.

The Natchez, Mississippi, Democrat newspaper identifies the victims as: pilot Justin Cardneaux (card-noh) and Barr Brown, both of Natchez; and Jerry Roberts of Vidalia, Louisiana.

The trio had taken off earlier yesterday from Natchez-Adams County Airport. The flight plan was from Natchez, Mississippi, to Waco.

The Waco Tribune-Herald reports Cardneaux also was a flight instructor, Brown was a businessman and Roberts was a school board member for Concordia Parish.
