It will be the new year before Bryan's school board takes action on the new middle school attendance zones.
No action was taken Monday evening on determining the new zones at the school board meeting. That means the issue won't be brought up against until the January 11 meeting, though there is no guarantee the zones will be decided then.
Thursday, the board approved the new attendance zones for high schools, that coming with the addition of a second high school to the system.
But the middle school zones are hotly debated, in part, because some students slated to go to Sam Rayburn would end up at Stephen F. Austin, which was recently rated academically unacceptable by the TEA.
The redrawing of zones comes with the addition of a fourth middle school to the district.
