Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay is launching a new Web site to promote conservative interests.
The Texas Republican yesterday launched the site, www.tom-delay.com. It accompanies his formation of the Grassroots Action and Information Network.
The site features DeLay's blog and commentary from other conservative writers.
DeLay resigned from Congress this spring rather than seek another term representing his Southeast Texas district.
He's awaiting trial in Travis County on felony money laundering and conspiracy counts stemming from an investigation into the allegedly illegal use of funds for state legislative races.
DeLay says the goal of his new network is, quote, "restoring American government to its constitutional roots and advancing the conservative first principles of order, justice and freedom."
Network members pay 52 dollars a year to participate.
