The roads you drive on -- or would drive on in the future -- are the subjects of a special session of the Texas legislature set to start this week.

Governor Rick Perry called the session, set to begin Wednesday, with three items in mind for lawmakers to work on:

- Five state agencies, including TxDOT, will expire before the next legislative session without reauthorization. Perry wants lawmakers to extend authorizations at least until the 2011 legislative session.

- TxDOT's authority to put together deals with private companies in order to build roads is also up for discussion.

- The issuance of construction bonds are up for approval.

Sunday night, State Senator Steve Ogden joined News 3 to discuss the upcoming session, one he believes will not take long to complete. The Bryan Republican also addressed rumors that he may not seek re-election after nearly two decades serving in Austin.

SEN. Steve Ogden also worked to place more restriction on Bill SB-730 a bill that would allow employees to lawfully store firearms in their locked motor vehicles while parked at work. His duck and dodge vote on 5-19-09 out of the Obama Book. A vote against concealed carry on campuses on the 20Th. Ogden and his Liberal friends need stopped at the next election before he can inflict his gun free zones for sitting ducks on us at the Federal and State levels with more taxes. Major reasons to vote against him.

Time to talk into a TV camera. No time for the small business owners in the state. He did find time to triple the state corp, franchise Tax. He ready to join his liberal friends in DC now. I hope he can find room for his office trash also.
