Naming an interim president to lead Texas A&M University was a quick process. However a small holiday bump in the road, may delay the start of the search for a full time president.
Originally, System Chancellor Michael McKinney said a presidential search committee was to be named this week. But, McKinney's office now says it expects the group to be named after the first of the year.
It seems too many people are gone for the holidays. A spokesperson for McKinney's office says it will be too hard to track everyone down this season.
The committee is expected to search the nation for the person they want to lead Texas A&M into the future.
Interim President Dr. Ed Davis, said on Monday he would not apply for the position. However Davis did add that if he became a candidate it would be because the regents or the chancellor made that decision.
