For the second day in a row, a suspect's actions turned a minor crime into a major one.
Tuesday's incident took place at the College Station Kettle shortly before 3:30 p.m. Police say a teen suspected of stealing was confronted by the restaurant manager. They say the teen assaulted the employee in an attempt to escape. That elevated the charge to a felony robbery.
Coincidentally, a similar incident happened Monday at Macy's in Post Oak Mall. Police say a suspected shoplifter allegedly pulled a switchblade on a security officer, which turned a possible misdemeanor charge into a felony.
