Blown Away is how organizers of the Keaisha Chambers lemonade stand fund raiser are describing Wednesday's big event.
Family members of the 11-year-old can't believe the communities generosity throughout the day.
Wednesday in College Station teachers, parents and kindergarten students sold lemonade, raffled off items and collected money to help defray some of the expenses for Keaisha's medical treatments.
Chambers has cancer. The College Station fifth grader was diagnosed with Ewing Tumors in April, a type of cancer that starts in the bones or nearby soft tissue. Between chemo-therapy treatments and trips back and forth to Scott and White in Temple, the costs have added up.
Organizers of the fund raiser say donations are still coming in. They've set up an account for Keaisha Chambers at Prosperity Bank. If you would like to donate, you can call or stop by any Prosperity Bank in the area.

What a wonderful thing the children, parents and teachers did, not only to help Kaeisha and her family at this most difficult time but the fact that they are teaching the young ones to love one another and to be happy to help out when need arises. What a great community. As for the political comments, this is not the time to get on your soap box!!
