Funeral services were held in the Houston suburb of Kingwood, Texas Thursday for a Marine recently killed in Iraq.
Friends and family said goodbye to 20-year-old Lance Corporal Luke Yepsen, a Marine Corps infantryman who had recently completed boot camp and was sent to Iraq in October.
Yepsen was shot during combat on December 14 in the Anbar Province. Yepsen joined the Marines after leaving Texas A&M University in his freshman year. He is survived by his mother, father and older brother. Friends say he had recently proposed to his girlfriend and the two were planning a wedding.
Residents of Kingwood gathered along Woodland Hills Drive to show their support. Services were held at St. Martha's Catholic Church.
