A federal judge has ordered an illegal immigrant at a South Texas facility to be force fed after the man went on a hunger strike that started last month.

U.S. District Judge Hilda Tagle on Wednesday ordered Kenson Lima, 26, to be given medical care and fed intravenously.

Lima, a Haitian immigrant being held at the Port Isabel Detention Center, collapsed in a shower a few days after starting a hunger strike June 23, according to court records.

Immigration officials filed a federal lawsuit to force feed him after he was taken to Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.

Lima is fighting his deportation case.

A hearing is scheduled Monday.

The sucker would either eat or starve to death. It might send a strong message to all the fools that try to pull this stunt, eat or die, it makes no difference to us.
