Even though the 4th of July was yesterday, the patriotism carried over to Sunday for the Texas World Speedway's Red, White and Blue Charity extravaganza. The day benefited several local organizations and charities.
The 2nd annual extravaganza kicked off around noon and ended around 9 p.m. with a display of fireworks over the racetrack.
But fireworks weren't all that the celebration had to offer.
There were marines on hand, as well as a blood drive hosted by The Blood Center Brazos Valley.
There were also vintage Indy car and Miata races on the super oval, a kid zone with inflatables and ride alongs on the track with instructors.
And if rather than riding, you enjoy running, there was also a 5k run. The proceeds from the 5k Fun Run will benefit the Still Creek Boys & Girls Ranch.
