AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has added Eric Lapaul Mosby, 39, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list, and a cash reward up to $5,000 is now being offered for information leading to his capture. Mosby has a violent criminal past and is wanted for failure to comply with sex offender registration, tampering with a governmental record and probation violation. All tips are guaranteed to be anonymous.
Mosby has ties to several East Texas cities, including San Augustine, Nacogdoches and Tenaha. He has previously worked in the poultry industry, and his criminal history includes sexual assault of a child, failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements and aggravated assault. Mosby was convicted in 1997 for the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl, and since 2007, he has been arrested multiple times for failure to register as a sex offender.
Mosby is 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs approximately 250 pounds, and he may be using the alias "Hambone." He has multiple tattoos, including a bone on his neck; a tiger on his right shoulder; and a woman on his left shoulder. Mosby also has a noticeable scar near his left eye.
Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.
