High winds, hard rain and several reported twisters spread damage and destruction across parts of Madison County Friday. County Judge Cecil Neely said at least two residents were injured, but neither seriously.
Neely said one woman was taken to Madison County St. Joseph with a head injury suffered during the storm. There were no specific details on how she was hurt, but he injury is not believed to be life threatening.
Elsewhere, OSR between Interstate 45 and FM 39 had to be closed due to fallen power lines. Power was also out in North Zulch for much of the afternoon and evening.
Authorities estimate as many as five tornadoes may have touched down in Madison County. Numerous trees and small buildings were destroyed. Damage to larger structures was also a familiar sight.
