GROESBECK, Texas -- Recovery efforts continued Saturday in
Limestone County, where authorities have released the name of the
one fatal victim from Friday's tornadoes.
Ryan Douglas Roper, 51, died Friday in a home for military veterans. He was killed by flying debris.
The tornadoes knocked out power to about 15,000 customers. But a TXU spokeswoman says power was restored to all 15,000 customers by Saturday evening.
Elsewhere in the state, there are some road closures caused by snow in the Panhandle. U.S. 287 north of Stratford, US 87 northwest of Dalhart, and US 385 north of Dalhart were all closed Saturday.
The National Weather Service says wind gusts approaching 50 miles per hour created snow drifts as high as five feet around Dalhart and Texline, near the New Mexico border.
