A fire that damaged an apartment complex behind Fling Jewelers in Bryan is now being called "suspicious".
Friday around 1:00 a.m. firefighters were called to the complex in the 1800 block of Wilde Oak Circle.
According to the Bryan Fire Department, the fire started in an upstairs apartment -- possibly on the balcony-- and was put out very quickly after firefighters arrived on scene.
No one was injured, and all residents of the units were safely evacuated before the fire became large.
Officials believe that no one was home at the apartment where the blaze started.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing flames coming out of the roof as high as 15 feet before firefighters arrived.
The roof of the unit was completely destroyed, and other units in the same building received heavy smoke and water damage. An apartment manager said the entire building will most likely be considered a total loss.

Yes that is CSFD in that one shot. If extra help is needed CSFD comes to help. When a extra Engine is needed they will send the closes unit available. So if it is a CSFD Eng that is closer it will come over to help. Big fires take more fireman. So CSFD will give mutal aid if we have a big fire. As will BFD give mutual aid if CSFD has a big fire.
Great job BFD! Quite impressive putting that fire out from inside the apartment.
hey... isn't that a College Station firefighter in that photo up above? Were they helping out too?
