Bryan city officials want TxDOT's attention when it comes to traffic problems along Briarcrest Drive.
City Council meets Tuesday and one of the items on the agenda calls for a resolution supporting changes on Briarcrest from Kent Street to Texas 6.
TxDOT has proposed changes on Briarcrest, including raised medians and turning lane additions.
Bryan officials agree with those recommendations, but also believe the changes would only be a temporary fix.
They also want TxDOT to think more long-term when it comes to fixing traffic problems on Briarcrest.
The city says the street has seen significant traffic increases, including some portions with more than 40,000 vehicles a day. A number that exceeds the design capacity.
