A former Bryan ISD truant officer accused of inappropriate contact with several high school girls is scheduled to go to trial this week.

Mark Anthony Haynes's trial is expected to begin Monday morning in the 272nd District Court.

Haynes, 35, was arrested in November 2002 after being accused of sexually assaulting two Bryan High students and showing pornography to others.

Haynes is now charged with two counts of solicitation to commit sexual assault and two counts of in decency with a child.

At the time, Haynes was a truant officer for the Bryan school district, but is no longer employed by BISD.

He remains free on $205,000 bond.
