A former Brenham city employee who stole thousands of dollars from the city was sentenced Friday.
Carie Lea Conway, 33, was sentenced to ten years probation.
In October 2006, the former Brenham clerk pleaded guilty to stealing $36,837 from the city's utility department.
As a part of her sentence, Conway must pay court costs and over 36-thousand dollars in restitution.
In addition, she must complete 225 hours of community service.
