(Madisonville) 12:15PM: Report from Madison County Judge Art Henson: Cleanup continues in Madison County from storms that included an 80-mph downburst that caused much damage in the Madisonville area.

Overturned vehicles from the I-45 and Highway 21 areas have been removed, but cleanup and repairs continue. Emergency Management Officials are working to document damages to determine if a Disaster Declaration is needed to help uninsured residents with possible funding sources.

Both city and county public works departments have been busy clearing limbs, trees, and debris. Most electricity has been restored to the County. Crews are completing work on the few Entergy customers remaining without power at this time.

County transfer stations are prepared to accept limbs and cut trees for disposal. County residents may log onto www.co.madison.tx.us to view precinct transfer stations locations and hours of operation. The City of Madisonville will be picking up residential debris that is left curbside, including limbs and cut trees. City residents may call 936-348-2748 for information on pickup of storm debris.

The Emergency Operations Center is in operation and will take reports of damage. Residents may call 348-3810 and leave their names, phone number and a description of the damage. 9:00AM: An assessment is being done on how much damage was caused by Sunday afternoon's storm in Madison County. The following report was released by Madison County Judge Art Henson:

"At approximately 5:25 p.m., storms raged through Madison County leaving behind a trail of destruction. Two major accidents with overturned vehicles were caused by damaging winds. Another commercial vehicle was overturned due to the storm. Several other motor vehicle accidents were reports; however, no fatalities were reported. Only three storm-related injuries were reported.

"Madison County residents are busy cleaning up debris. Much of Madisonville was affected, as well as most of the center of the County with severe damage to homes and businesses. Numerous roofs were ripped off or damaged, trees were uprooted and limbs severed, power lines down and debris strewn across pastures, and roadways.

"Major businesses near the interstate that were damaged include Madison County Tire, Budget Motel , Mo and Jo’s/Subway, Lakeside Restaurant, McDonald’s, Los Panchitos, Sonic, Budget Motel, Western Lodge, and Texas Pride Trailers. Further from the intersection, Ding ‘n Dent reported damage, as well as Jarrett’s Meat Market, Midway Trailer, and Midway Tire Company. Other businesses may also be damaged, but have not yet been reported to the EOC. The Industrial Park suffered damage, as well, mostly to roofs of buildings. Reports from downtown Madisonville include power pole damage, roof damage, trees down, and debris.

"Emergency crews have been working for several hours removing debris, routing traffic and working to restore power to the estimated 1000 – 2000 Entergy customers still without power as of 8:30 p.m. The Emergency Operations Center is in operation and will take reports of damage.
