It was a day off from work and school for many, but it was a day on for giving.
Youth volunteers with the United Way used the day to help at several community agencies. A few high school students taught youngsters games at the Bryan VFW and others helped out at the Boys and Girls Club.
Over 150 students were involved in the day, themed "Hula Down for Service."
During the fall semester, the high schools raised a combined total of over $15,000 for the United Way.
