A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Lee, Leon, Madison, Milam, Montgomery, Robertson, San Jacinto, Trinity, Walker, Waller, and Washington Counties until 7am SUNDAY. 1" to 3" of rain, with localized totals between 5" & 7" will be possible as a slow moving, weak cold front arrives through early Sunday.
Governor Rick Perry's second full term is sure to get off to a chilly start today -- due to a lingering winter storm.
Perry is scheduled to be sworn in during ceremonies on the south steps of the Texas Capitol.
The inaugural theme is: "Texas: Imagine the Possibilities."
Also being sworn in is Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst.
Perry and his family are slated to start the day with a private prayer service at First United Methodist Church in Austin.
The inaugural schedule also includes a barbecue lunch and an evening black-tie ball.
Organizers canceled the traditional downtown Austin parade because of the cold, icy conditions.
If the weather is too bad, backup plans are to move the swearing-in ceremonies into the Texas House chamber.
