An East Texas high school band director's alleged relationship with a former student landed him in Brazos County jail.
William Watson, 27, turned himself over to authorities Tuesday and was charged with sexual assault of a child.
The woman told police that she became close friends with Watson, who was her band director at Iola High School. That student then moved to College Station, where authorities said Watson would travel from Iola to the area, to carry on a sexual relationship.
A warrant for Watson's arrest was issued late last week. He turned himself in Tuesday and was charged with sexual assault of a child. Watson is out of jail on $25,000 bond.
Police say Watson is currently the band director at Garrison High School near Nacogdoches.
