Power Outages Caused by Winter Blitz

The winter weather caused some power outages throughout the area.

Since Tuesday night, more than 4,000 residents lost power in the Bastrop, Brenham and Giddings area. Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative says most of those were caused by tree limbs and ice.

Mid South Synergy reported their first major power outage Wednesday afternoon. About 500 customers lost power in Roans Prairie after ice caused lines to touch the ground. Power was restored Wednesday evening.

Smaller outages affected mid south customers in the Navasota, Montgomery, Huntsville and North Zulch areas.

And College Station Utilities and Navasota Valley Electric Co-op also reported outages. Most of those have been restored.
