Two Calvert residents have been arrested in connection with a pair of convenience story robberies in Roberston County.
Sheriff Gerald Yezak says 23-year-old Marcus Taylor and 32-year-old Sherman Brown have been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and that Taylor's also been charged with a probation violation.
Brown turned himself in to authorities Tuesday, while investigators arrested Taylor on Monday afternoon.
On July 30th, the Hearne Food Mart was held-up and Detective Steve Grace with Hearne Police says, the robber pointed a small pistol at the clerk and demanded money and then left with the cash.
On August 5th, during the robbery of the Oak Grove Grocery store four miles north of Franklin, Sheriff Yezak says two female employees were also robbed at gunpoint and that in each case, an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.
The arrests come as the result of a joint operation between the Robertston County Sheriff's Department, Hearne Police and Bryan P-D.
Brown and Taylor both have records in Brazos County. In 2004, Marcus Taylor was charged with burglary of a vehicle and in 2007, Brown faced theft charges.

everyone is talking about these two guys but what about all the other break-ins in calvert like the cafe and all the times the stores were broke in, all the people getting robbed and what about those kids that almost killed the old lady(Ms.Salter) i mean come on people do u really think that some kids done that, be serious it was a grown up and everryone in this town nows that they probly was looking for something to steal, i mean get serious what about all the drugs that are sold right in front of your houses and theres nothing done about it, i mean what do you think the younger kids think when they see these kind of things and me personally i think that all the drugs are beening sold under the tree on west, texas street, and under the tree on M.L.K mostly thats where all the drug dealers and smokers hang out at and the guys that are selling these drugs used to be some intelligent guys and now look at them, so i think yall need to judge other people in this town for bad examples not one
Now that Sherman and Marcus is locked up i guess there will be no more stealing huh!(notttt) PEOPLE this have been going on for years and years around here. It's not only those two fellows half of the break-ins are from the women around here (they arent as innocent as they look) what about those girls that broke into Trenton Green house on Hannah Street they took everything in a blink of an eye and nothing happened about that and on top of it all they were kin to the woman of the house now thats cold hearted but they sy family is the one that gets u eerytime, and i also no that one of the girls(the whatley girl was pregnant at the time of all this) i mean come on people is it that serious!
