What one Bryan man thought was only the sound of a car back-firing quickly turned more serious Tuesday.
College Station Police say after the 25-year-old man heard the noise in the 1200 block of Georgia, he looked down and noticed he had been shot in the hip. The man went to St. Joseph where he was treated and released.
The case has been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division of CSPD. They will continue to investigate the shooting.
