Among numerous items to be considered, the System Board of Regents will discuss honoring Robert Gates with President Emeritus status.

The title is conferred upon individuals who have made significant contributions to the system. Those meetings will take place this Thursday and Friday.

If Gates receives the title, he will be invited to functions and meetings, and will be granted use of services and facilities in accordance with university rules.

System Chancellor Michael McKinney put the item on the agenda.
