The Madison County courthouse saw its share of commotion Tuesday morning.

Defendant Richard Polk was making an appearance on a marijuana charge when he suddenly turned on District Attorney Bill Bennett.

Polk reportedly asked County Judge Art Henson what would happen if he hit someone. Before Henson could answer, Polk allegedly drew back a fist, striking his own attorney Bill Rice, then swung at Bennett.

Bennett blocked the punch, and Polk was quickly ushered out of the courtroom by police.
