The widow of a Fort Worth police officer killed in the line of duty has started a foundation to help other police families.
Teresa Nava lost her husband in November 2005 when Officer Hank Nava was fatally shot while investigating an identity theft ring.
Nava says she's grateful for the support her family received when her husband died, but now her mission is to do more for families of fallen officers.
Nava and five of her husband's friends have formed H.A.N.K., which stands for Helping Another Next of Kin.
The group wants to help graduating police cadets draft wills, free of charge.
It's also raising money to provide scholarships for officer's children and donations for the families of fallen officers.
The foundation will hold its first fundraiser with a foot race in March.
