A TORNADO WATCH has been issued for Austin and Waller counties until 2am. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect for Austin, Montgomery, San Jacinto, and Waller counties until 12am Tuesday, and for Lee county until 1am Tuesday. A FLASH FLOOD WARNING is in effect for Lee county until 12:15am Tuesday, Austin, southern Brazos, southern Burleson, Waller, and Washington counties until 1am Tuesday, and Leon county until 1:15am Tuesday, and Milam and Robertson counties until 1:30am Tuesday.
The construction which began Monday on a year long project on East 29th Street, already has some motorists feeling inconvenienced.
Officials with City of Bryan say they have already received a large number number of phone calls in regards to the street widening project.
However, while the road work may be a hassle to motorists now, officials say the improvements will be well worth the wait.
"For the long term it's going to be at much better capacity for this section of roadway. Plus safety, it will really improve safety," said Linda Huff, City of Bryan Engineer.
Officials urge motorists to use alternate routes when possible.
