Mardi Gras Helps Future Aggies

Mardi Gras got underway Saturday night in Bryan. And a familiar face was expected to be was part of the festivities.

The Texas A&M University Women's Club hosted a Mardi Gras Party and Fundraiser at the Veranda. The Women's Club put on the event to help complete a scholarship endowment in Becky Gates' name. Event organizers said Mrs. Gates was expected travel back to Aggieland to attend.

Partygoers were treated a cajun buffet, a live music, raffle, and silent auction. Back in December of 2006, the organization honored the wife of former A&M President Robert Gates by creating the scholarship endowment.
