A former member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets was indicted Thursday by a Brazos County grand jury on 10 counts of possession of child pornography.
Rolando Patlan, 20, of Irving, surrendered to the Texas A&M University Police Department in December.
According to court documents, in November, three of Patlan's fellow corps members told university police the cadet, who lived in the same dorm, possessed child porn.
Police say the students found pornographic files on a shared computer network that they believed were from Patlan.
Through a search warrant, university police say they searched Patlan's room and found his computer.
According to court documents, during the search Patlan agreed to an interview, in which he admitted to downloading child pornography, describing it as his "sick secret."
In a further search, police say, 10 pornographic videos were discovered on Patlan's computer, each involving females that appeared to be under the age of 18 involved in sexual acts.
A total of 41 indictments were handed up Thursday by a Brazos County grand jury.
