Candy just got a little sweeter for some Brazos Valley kids. Radio personalities from Candy 95.1 kicked off their live "Candy Cares for Kids" radiothon at the Wal-Mart in College Station.
This is the second year Candy has partnered with the Children's Miracle Network to raise money for pediatric patients of Bryan and College Station.
Each year, the 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals provide the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind.
All of the proceeds raised during the event will be designated to support local Brazos Valley pediatric patients by further developing pediatric and expanded newborn nursery services at St. Joseph Regional Health Center, funding research on childhood diseases, and sending patients to special summer camps hosted by Scott & White.
Local "miracle kids", their families and physicians were interviewed about their experiences at Scott & White and St. Joseph Regional Health Center, as well as the impact that CMN Brazos Valley has had on their lives.
The radiothon, which started Thursday, lasts from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm daily, and will continue on through Saturday.
