A handful of anti-war demonstrators gathered Thursday outside the local office of a state representative to show support for a recent vote of his.
Last Friday, Congressman Chet Edwards (D-District 17) sided with his fellow Democrats in passing a resolution that opposes sending more troops to Iraq. President Bush announced earlier this year his plans to send more than 20,000 more troops into the region.
In addition, the group delivered letters they and other anti-war supporters wrote to Edwards' office expressing their opposition to the war.
The gathering was in conjunction with a nationwide protest effort organized by MoveOn.org.
